An article in leading technology magazine, CNET, has focused on the importance of flash storage drives for the cloud and virtualised architectures.

It states that, with flash storage technology having now matured, it is time for businesses to move away from traditional flash drives, and towards the solutions provided by companies such as Tintri.

CNET’s reasoning is that disk-based storage systems can seriously slow performance workflow, thereby making them evermore irrelevant. At the same time applications and databases are progressively being virtualised and launched in the cloud. Despite this, it acknowledges that traditional flash storage will continue to enhance the enterprise landscape.

The article refers specifically to Tintri as a venture-backed start-up, but places it above competitors who offer flash arrays. It does this by citing Tintri’s "intelligent flash storage", which is far better at tackling the excessive cost associated with each GB of flash.
